Today, May 17 is a public holiday in Galicia. It's the day  of the Galician Culture, a time to celebrate the Galician Language and its Literature.

Since 1963, each Galician Literature Day has been dedicated to a different writer. 

This year, it's dedicated to the great poet Lois Pereiro (1958 - 1996)
